Andrea Zapata

Andrea builds identities and the graphic systems that hold them together: the mark, the palette, the type, and the rules that keep a brand recognisable long after the logo is finished. She works in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, in Spanish and in English.

She trained as a fashion designer before she was a graphic designer, and that is where her working idea comes from. Clothes are not only for wearing, they communicate, and colour carries the message before any word does. She reads a brand the same way. Her own line for it is diseño estratégico con estética, strategic design with aesthetics.

Based in Medellín. Her first work here is for a Houston dealership selling into a Latino market, which is the kind of job that needs the design and the Spanish to come from the same person.
